1. About This Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Insurance Education Advisors, Inc. (“IEA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit www.ieadvisors.org, submit an inquiry, enroll in a course, sit for an exam, or hold one of our professional designations.
This Policy applies to our website and our training programs. It does not apply to the privacy practices of insurance carriers, agencies, FMOs, IMOs, or other third parties you may work with, even if you learned about them through us.
Our CE partner
Our continuing education programs are offered through NetStudy (including its InsuranceStudy platform), which is the state-approved continuing education provider of record for our courses. IEA develops, owns, and teaches the course content. NetStudy holds the provider approvals, hosts and delivers course materials, administers and grades exams, issues completion certificates, reports CE credit to state regulators under its provider approval, and manages course approval renewals and state audits.
Because of that division of work, some of the information described in this Policy is collected and held by NetStudy rather than by us. This applies in particular to exam responses and scores, platform activity, and CE completion records. As the approved provider, NetStudy holds and retains those records to meet its own obligations to state regulators, not solely on our behalf. When you access course materials or sit for an exam on a NetStudy platform, NetStudy’s own privacy policy also applies to that activity. We encourage you to review it.

This is collected through cookies and similar technologies described in Section 5.
Information from third parties
We may receive information from NetStudy, including your enrollment status, attendance, exam results, completion dates, and confirmation that credit has been reported to a state. We may also receive information from an employer, agency, FMO, IMO, carrier, or association that enrolls or sponsors you in a program, and from our payment processor confirming a transaction.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described below.

| NetStudy (approved CE provider) | Course registration and delivery, exam administration and grading, certificate issuance, credit reporting under its provider approval, course approval renewals, and state audit response. Sharing your name, contact details, license number and NPN, and resident state with NetStudy is necessary for you to receive CE credit. |

| Instructors and contractors | Delivering training and monitoring or proctoring exams, under confidentiality obligations. |
| Sponsoring organization | If an employer, agency, FMO, IMO, carrier, or association pays for or sponsors your enrollment, we may confirm your registration, attendance, and completion status to that organization. |

| Business transfer | In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy. |
We do not currently publish a public directory or lookup tool of designees. We do not make your name, company, or designation status publicly searchable. If we introduce a public directory or verification tool in the future, we will update this Policy and give designees notice and an opportunity to opt out before any listing is published.
5. Cookies and Analytics
We do not run advertising or tracking pixels on the Site, and we do not use third-party analytics. We do not track you across other websites, build advertising profiles, or share information with advertising networks. This is why we are able to state in Section 4 that we do not sell or share your personal information.
The Site uses cookies only where they are needed for it to function, such as keeping the site running correctly and remembering your preferences. The Site also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address in order to serve the font files. It does not identify you to us or to Google as a customer of ours.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies the Site needs to function may prevent parts of it from working. We do not respond to browser Do Not Track signals at this time.
If we add analytics, advertising pixels, a chat widget, or similar tools in the future, we will update this Policy before or at the time those tools go live.
6. Text Messages and Marketing Communications
If you provide a phone number, you consent to receive calls and text messages from IEA about your inquiry, enrollment, and related programs. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to marketing texts is not a condition of purchasing any course.
You can opt out of marketing texts by replying STOP and out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us at emily@ieadvisors.org. We may still send transactional messages relating to an active enrollment, exam, or renewal.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy and to meet our legal obligations. Course completion and CE records are retained for the period required by applicable state insurance regulations and are held primarily by NetStudy so that completions can be substantiated in a state audit. Inquiry and marketing records are retained until you opt out or the information is no longer useful, and financial records are retained as required by tax and accounting rules.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, request correction of inaccurate information, request deletion, request a portable copy, opt out of targeted advertising or the sale or sharing of personal information, and be free from discrimination for exercising these rights.
We honor these requests from anyone who asks, whether or not a particular state privacy law applies to us. Because we do not sell or share personal information and do not engage in targeted advertising, there is nothing to opt out of in those categories, and we do not maintain a separate “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link.
To make a request, contact us at emily@ieadvisors.org or 547 Boylston St, Brookline, MA 02445. We will verify your identity before responding and will reply within the timeframe required by applicable law. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with proof of authorization. Where a request concerns records held by NetStudy, such as exam responses, platform activity, or completion history, we will forward it to NetStudy, and their response times and verification requirements may apply.
Some information cannot be deleted on request. In particular, course completion and CE credit records that we or NetStudy are required to create and retain under state insurance regulations cannot be deleted while that obligation applies, and credit already reported to a state cannot be withdrawn.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls, encrypted transmission of data submitted through the Site, and use of vetted service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, contact us immediately.
Our agreements with service providers who handle personal information, including NetStudy, contain written confidentiality and data handling obligations covering how that information may be used and protected.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Site and our programs are intended for insurance and financial professionals aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it.
11. Third-Party Links
The Site links to third-party websites and services that we do not control, including the NetStudy learning platform. This Policy does not apply to them. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any site you visit through a link from ours, and NetStudy’s policy in particular if you take a course or exam on their platform.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date above reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be posted on this page, and your continued use of the Site after posting constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
