1. Agreement to These Terms
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of www.ieadvisors.org and any related pages, content, forms, courses, and services (collectively, the “Site”). The Site is operated by Insurance Education Advisors, Inc. (“IEA,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract to use the Site or enroll in any course. Our courses are intended for licensed insurance professionals and others in the financial services industry. By enrolling, you represent that any professional license or credential information you provide is accurate and current.
3. Educational Content Only: No Professional Advice
All content on the Site and within our courses is provided for general educational and informational purposes only. This includes material regarding Medicare, Medicare Supplement insurance, IRMAA, Social Security, long-term care, annuities, life insurance, and tax or income planning.
Nothing on the Site constitutes legal, tax, accounting, investment, insurance, or other professional advice, and nothing should be relied upon as a recommendation regarding any specific product, carrier, or client situation. You are solely responsible for your own compliance with all applicable insurance laws, carrier requirements, suitability standards, and advertising and marketing regulations in every jurisdiction in which you operate.
4. No Government Affiliation
IEA is a private educational company. We are not connected with or endorsed by the U.S. government, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Social Security Administration, the federal Medicare program, or any state insurance department. References to Medicare, Medicare Supplement plans, or government programs are educational and do not imply endorsement or approval.
5. Continuing Education, Course Delivery, and Our CE Partner
Our continuing education programs are offered through NetStudy (including its InsuranceStudy platform), which is the state-approved continuing education provider of record for our courses. IEA develops, owns, and teaches the course content. NetStudy holds the provider approvals, files and maintains course approvals with state departments of insurance, hosts and delivers course materials, administers and grades exams, issues completion certificates, reports CE credit to state regulators under its provider approval, and manages course approval renewals and state audits.
Practically, this means:
- When you enroll, register for an exam, or access course materials online, you may be directed to a platform operated by NetStudy. Your use of that platform is subject to NetStudy’s own terms of use and privacy policy in addition to these Terms.
- CE credit is granted under NetStudy’s provider approval, not under a separate IEA provider approval. Approval is granted by individual state insurance departments and applies only to the states and license types for which a given course is filed and currently active.
- CE approval status may change, expire, or be withdrawn by a state at any time. You are responsible for confirming that a course satisfies your own CE requirements before enrolling.
- Credit is awarded only upon completion of all required components, which may include attendance, a passing exam score, and a signed monitor or proctor affidavit where a state requires a supervised exam.
- Completion is reported to state authorities by NetStudy under its provider approval. We do not guarantee acceptance of credit by any state or licensing body, or the timing of any state’s processing of a reported completion.
- Certificates of completion are issued and delivered electronically. Retain your certificate for your own records and any state audit.
You are responsible for providing accurate license and National Producer Number information. Credit cannot be reported, and may be rejected by a state, if the information you supply is inaccurate or incomplete.
Questions about CE credit, exam results, certificates, or reporting to a state should be directed to NetStudy as the approved provider. Questions about course content, instruction, scheduling, or your MSP or MPP designation should be directed to IEA.
6. Enrollment, Fees, and Payment
Course fees, renewal fees, and any other charges are stated on the Site at the time of enrollment and are quoted in U.S. dollars. Current program pricing (including course cost, materials, exam, and annual renewal) is subject to change at any time; the price in effect when you complete enrollment applies to that enrollment.
You agree to pay all applicable fees and taxes. Depending on the program and how you enroll, payment may be collected by IEA or by NetStudy through its platform. Card payments are handled by a third-party payment processor subject to its own terms. We do not receive or store full payment card details.
Fees do not include state licensing fees, exam retake fees charged by third parties, travel, or any costs associated with in-person or on-site training unless expressly stated.
7. Cancellation and Refunds
This section applies to individual enrollments purchased directly. Corporate, agency, FMO, IMO, carrier, and association engagements are governed by the separate written agreement for that engagement, which controls over this section.
- Full refund. You may cancel and receive a full refund if you submit a written request at least 30 days before your scheduled course date, and before course materials or textbooks have been shipped or platform access has been granted.
- No refund. Fees are non-refundable once course materials or textbooks have been shipped or accessed, once platform access has been granted, once the exam has been attempted, or after the course has begun.
- Rescheduling. You may move to a later session once at no charge if you request it in writing at least 30 days before your scheduled course date. Later requests and additional changes may be subject to a fee.
- Reported credit. Once a completion has been reported to a state, that credit cannot be withdrawn and the enrollment is not refundable.
- Third-party fees. Where enrollment, payment, or course administration is handled by a third-party provider, that provider may charge its own cancellation or processing fee. Any such fee is not refundable and may be deducted from the amount refunded to you.
- Courses we cancel. If we cancel or reschedule a course, you may transfer to another session or receive a full refund of the fees paid for that course.
Refund requests must be submitted in writing to info@ieadvisors.org. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method.
8. Annual Renewal and Use of the Designation
Graduates who complete a program may be granted the right to use the applicable designation and designation badge (for example, Medicare Supplement Professional™ / MSP™ or Medicare Planning Professional™ / MPP™) subject to these Terms and to payment of the annual renewal fee.
Your right to use a designation, badge, or digital certificate:
- Is a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license granted for as long as your renewal is current and in good standing;
- Terminates automatically if your renewal lapses or if your designation is revoked;
- May not be altered, sublicensed, or used in a manner that is false, misleading, or that implies government endorsement or a professional qualification you do not hold;
- Must be used in accordance with any brand or usage guidelines we publish.
We may suspend or revoke a designation for non-payment, misuse of our marks, misrepresentation of the credential, or conduct that violates applicable insurance law or these Terms.
What the annual renewal fee is, and is not
The annual renewal fee is charged by IEA for the continued right to use the designation, the designation badge, the digital certificate, and any graduate benefits we make available. It is administered and billed by IEA.
The renewal fee is not a continuing education fee. It does not purchase continuing education credit, it is not charged by our continuing education provider, and it is not required by any state. Continuing education credit that has already been reported to a state is yours to keep and is not affected if your designation renewal lapses. Allowing your renewal to lapse ends your right to use the designation and badge; it does not remove CE credit you have already earned.
Lapse and reinstatement
If your annual renewal fee is not paid, your designation lapses. Your right to use the designation, the badge, and the digital certificate ends on the date of lapse and does not resume until the designation is reinstated.
- Lapsed less than 24 months. You may reinstate by paying the annual renewal fee then in effect. Retaking the course is not required.
- Lapsed 24 months or more. Reinstatement requires retaking the current version of the course and satisfying its completion requirements, at the course fee then in effect.
Reinstatement is effective going forward only. It does not restore designation status for the period of the lapse, and you may not represent yourself as having held the designation during any period in which it was lapsed.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site and in our courses is owned by IEA or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. This includes textbooks, slides, workbooks, video, audio, assessments, exam questions, graphics, logos, program names, and designation marks.
You are granted a limited, personal, non-transferable license to access and use course materials for your own professional education. You may not:
- Copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, rent, or sublicense course materials;
- Record, screen-capture, or retransmit any live or virtual session;
- Use course materials to develop, deliver, or market a competing training or certification program;
- Share login credentials or allow another person to complete any course component on your behalf;
- Use automated tools to scrape, index, or harvest Site content.
Course materials may be hosted and delivered on a platform operated by NetStudy. Neither that hosting arrangement nor NetStudy’s role as the approved continuing education provider transfers ownership of the content: our courses, textbooks, and exams remain the property of IEA or its licensors, and the restrictions above apply to material accessed through that platform exactly as they do to material accessed here.
10. Exam Integrity
Exams are administered through NetStudy and are subject to controls required by state regulators. These may include completing review of the course material before the exam is released, restrictions on downloading, printing, or copying exam content, time limits, and a signed monitor or proctor affidavit where a state requires a supervised exam.
You agree to complete the exam yourself, without unauthorized assistance or materials, and not to disclose, reproduce, or distribute exam questions or answers. Violations may result in a failing grade, revocation of credit or designation, forfeiture of fees paid, and reporting to the relevant state insurance department where required.
11. Submissions and Communications
When you submit information through a contact or inquiry form, you consent to be contacted by IEA at the phone number, email address, or mailing address you provide, including by phone call, email, and text message regarding your inquiry, enrollment, courses, and related offerings. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in an email or by contacting us at info@ieadvisors.org. Transactional messages related to an active enrollment may still be sent.
Information you submit is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
12. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Site to: violate any law or regulation; infringe the rights of others; upload malicious code; attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or its systems; interfere with the Site’s operation; or misrepresent your identity, license status, or affiliation.
13. Third-Party Links and Services
The Site may link to third-party websites, tools, or services that we do not control. Links are provided for convenience only and do not constitute endorsement. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, products, or privacy practices of any third-party site, and your dealings with third parties are solely between you and that third party.
14. Availability and Changes to the Site
We may modify, suspend, reschedule, or discontinue any portion of the Site, any course, or any program at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. Portions of our programs are delivered on systems operated by NetStudy, and we are not responsible for outages, maintenance windows, or errors on those systems. If we cancel a scheduled course, we will offer you a reschedule or a refund of fees paid for that course.
15. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT AND COURSES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that any course will result in CE credit acceptance in any jurisdiction, in any particular business, sales, or income outcome, or in any specific result for you or your clients. Any examples, case studies, or scenarios are illustrative only.
16. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IEA AND ITS OWNERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, INSTRUCTORS, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOST PROFITS, LOST COMMISSIONS, LOST BUSINESS, OR LOSS OF DATA, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SITE OR ANY COURSE.
OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SITE OR ANY COURSE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO IEA IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
17. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless IEA and its owners, officers, employees, instructors, and contractors from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, your misuse of our marks or designations, or your professional conduct with clients.
18. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. You and IEA agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Norfolk County, Massachusetts, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last Updated” date above reflects the most recent version. Changes are effective when posted. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
20. Severability and Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any separate written enrollment or corporate training agreement, constitute the entire agreement between you and IEA regarding the Site. Where a signed corporate, agency, FMO, IMO, or carrier training agreement conflicts with these Terms, that agreement controls for that engagement.
